Elementary Kids
This group is for children who were/will be 8-11 years old as of September 1st of the co-op’s “school year.”
The following program components will be explored for this age group at the monthly meetings held on the first Tuesday:
STEM
This interactive and engaging class will give elementary kids a chance to understand how the world around them reflects science, technology, engineering, and math concepts. With content and activities curated to their level of learning, kids in this class will get a chance to develop a healthy curiosity and comfortability surrounding all kinds of STEM related topics. Often tapping into opportunities for teamwork, this class will offer a hands-on application and discovery opportunity for each of the topics it explores.
Recess
This class is designed to introduce elementary aged homeschoolers to the concepts of competition and personal drive in a healthy and safe environment! They will get a chance to learn and participate in group classics like Kickball, Soccer, and Jump Rope, while also taking on new challenges like the new and popular Viking Chess.
Inspirational Art
Unlike conventional crafting, this class will use inspirational activities like stories, music, classical examples, and “still life” to introduce kids to painting, mosaics, sculpting, and more! With the majority of time provided for the actual creation of unique art pieces, parents can expect their child to bring home a special work unlike any of their peers.
