Program Overview

A faith-based co-op for whole families to connect.

The cooperative program of Root & Arrow consists of 4 main elements:

  1. Events - For each active month the co-op hosts two events, generally on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays (a total of 13 events). Each event is unique and offers elements to engage family members of all ages. The majority of the events are outdoors and local-ish to the Holly Hill area (with a few “field trips” to places like St. George, Isle of Psalms, and Cottageville).

  2. Homeschool Club - In partnership with the Holly Hill library, co-op families can meet up on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of active months and engage in activities like interactive play for babies, story time for preschoolers, and a game club for elementary children and teens (although there may be an opportunity for students 12+ to take a classical composition curriculum in the second semester).

  3. Pop-Ups - Throughout the “school-year,” co-op families can expect to be invited to a number of group activities that are usually theme based and available on a first come first serve basis. Examples of previous pop-ups include early literacy reading parties, a creation-based dinosaur expo, a quarry field trip, and lots of park meet ups with recess-style activities. The difference between pop-ups and events, is generally that they may not be on the available calendar at the start of the year; hence the term “pop up.”

  4. Facebook Group - Parents are invited to a private Facebook group to interact and are welcome to post and plan their own meet ups. The Facebook group is intended to allow parents to offer support, ideas, and even curriculum swaps with one another.
