Health & Safety
To prevent the spread of communicable diseases and protect children from bodily harm, here are the expectations we have for ourselves and others:
What we will do:
Provide hand sanitizer in strategic locations as necessary
Provide hand washing opportunities, as needed
Allow participants to wear face coverings at their parents’ discretion
Discourage the sharing of water bottles and meal items
Have basic first aid materials available
Keep children in supervised areas, so there is never a reason for a child to be alone with another child or adult that is not their guardian.
What parents will do:
Do not attend co-op meet ups and/or events if you, your child, or anyone in your immediate household is feeling unwell or running a fever
Teach your children basic health etiquette, like covering their mouth/nose when they need to sneeze/cough and washing their hands immediately following - As well, teach them not to touch their face excessively.
If your child discharges bodily fluids during a meet up (i.e. dirty diaper, scrape that is bleeding, runny nose, vomit etc.), parents will be asked to step in to clean up their own children.
Please cover rashes and open sores.
Please tie-up or braid long hair on children
Smoking and/or vaping is not allowed anywhere on the property where meet ups and events are taking place
If your child becomes ill within 24 hours of a meeting or event and they are diagnosed with a communicable disease, please contact the director as a courtesy (your identity will be kept confidential, but the information you share may be used to assist other families to monitor and protect the health of their families)
Please note: While we understand pollen allergies are a real challenge for many families, we are not able to host participants who are excessively sneezing, coughing or discharging mucus.
